Preliminary
Information for eBay Cashflow Site Owners
Thanks for considering our eBay Cashflow package. We hope it proves extremely profitable to you. And while it may seem to increase your competition, there is plenty out there for all of us. Please tell others of our packages, or better yet, become an affiliate and earn by recommending our products to others.
Your
Domain Name
The
Domain name is very important! In eBay's Terms & Conditions
Agreement, you
are not allowed to use their name in your domain name or keywords.
If you do, they may cancel your affiliate membership and/or not pay
you. For example, you cannot have TomsEbay.com. You cannot even use a
hyphenated version like e-Bay.com, or Julies-e-bay.com. You may want
something like TomsAuction.com, or JuliesDiscountItems.com, etc.
We
have several “generic” domains that you are free to use.
Your site will be set up as a “sub-domain” with your
choice of having your personal portion before or after the domain
itself.
The
three domains are:
auctionaccelerator.com
which could be used as melvas.auctionaccelerator.com or
auctionaccelerator.com/bargaincenter (or melvasbargaincenter)
highly-recommends.com
could be fred.highly-recommends.com or
highly-recommends.com/superstore (or fredssuperstore)
speedy-shopper.com
could be melissas.speedy-shopper.com or
speedy-shopper.com/outstandingvalues (or melissasoutstandingvalues)
You
will be able to tell us if you want to use one of these soon after
joining us.
Buying
a New Domain Name
If
you do not already have one you can order your domain through us. We
have found that there are times when we need access to the domain
account and often set them up for our clients. We do not hold on to
the domains, or use them as hostages if you want to leave us. You are
paying for them as part of our agreement, and they
are yours to take if you want to leave.
(Since we pay for them by the year, if you decide to leave, you will
have to pay us for the domain when you go.)
Hosting
is FREE
Well,
you are paying for it, but it
is included in the price of your package.
You pay one price, either monthly, quarterly or annually and it
covers hosting, your domain registration and the use of the eBay
Cashflow website. We retain
ownership of the site itself,
but you may purchase it from us if you would like to move to another
host.
You Can Buy it Outright
You
can intstall it wherever you want..
The cost is $ 49.95 for the entire site and after payment you will be
directed to a page where you can download your website. If you'd like,
we can install it for you for $ 15.00 on any server where you have
FTP access. Or, we will install it free if you host with us on our
server at discounted rates.
If you do not have one, there will also be a charge for the domain name of $
12.00 ($ 24.00 for .co.uk which is a 2 year registration).
Naturally,
once you buy the site outright, you are responsible for any changes.
Of
course, you can keep it on our server under our standard plan. Your
only cost that way will be the initial monthly, quarterly or annual
fee you originally agreed to.
Support
is FREE
You
will never be charged for support or maintenance of your website on
our server.There is a
charge for any header or color changes to the site after the initial free setup.
We
will honor that header or color change offer indefinitely if you do
as we suggest and start off with the original color scheme. It was
designed by professional website designers and should do quite well
just as it is.
So,
even 6 months or more from when you join us, we will still stand by
our one-time free header and color change.
That takes care of the website basic,
now we'll move on to the actual setup of your eBay Cashflow Website.
Setting
up your Affiliate Accounts
Your income is going to be obtained
from two sources, the eBay Affiliate Program and Google AdSense
revenues. If you are not presently enrolled in these programs, we
are going to show you how to join.
Your
eBay Affiliate Account
Creating
your Ebay Affiliate account is free. Go there now - Ebay
Affiliate Signup
Simply register and wait for an
approval email. You must be approved. At this time it's pretty
automatic, but they may change their guidelines.
Then
go back to the Ebay
Affiliate Site
Login and Click on Campaigns
You
will see your Default Campaign Account Number
That
is the number we need, and you should keep a copy of.
That
is all we need from there.
You
may want to come back and spend more time there to learn how else you can use the affiliate
program.
Setting
up your AdSense Account with Google
Creating your Google AdSense account
is free. AdSense is the brand of Google that displays text ads on
your website and you get paid for every valid click.
It's reported that no one really knows
the percentage that Google pays. But you can expect between 1¢
and $5 or more per click - depending on the demand of the keyword.
Register
for AdSense here.
Once logged in,
Click the tab My Account.
Scroll
down to the bottom of the page and find Property Information.
AdSense
for Content is the ID you need.
Copy or type pub- followed by all the
numbers - not the ca- portion.
That is the Google ID you need to get
paid. Again, record it and keep it handy, as you will need to give it
to us to set up your website.
What
we need from you
We need your Campaign number from
your eBay affiliate account
Google
AdSense ID. Your pub-xxxxxxxx number
You
will also need to supply the name of your website as it will show
on your eBay Cashflow site itself. This does not have to be your
exact domain name.
Next,
we can change some of the colors on your site.
We
can change the background “behind” the main part of the
site. This is usually gray, but can be any color you wish. We can
change the color of the background of the main section of the site,
where the eBay products are shown. We suggest leaving this as it is,
but you do have a choice.
Finally,
we can change the color of the “sidebar” with the
category listings and AdSense links. Again, this is your choice.
We
CANNOT change the color of the smaller AdSense ads. They are going
to match the color of the sidebar, in keeping with Google’s
policy.
We
can also change the “Header” across the top of your
site.
You can also tell us how many eBay
items to show on the search and category results. More on this on
the next page.
PLEASE
NOTE – All
of these initial settings are done at no cost to you. They can be
changed later, but there will be a charge, usually $ 15.00, for any
changes at a later date. If
you are not happy we will charge you for any additional changes.
Frankly,
we suggest using the default colors and settings until you are
familiar with your site. We will still do one free setup for you.
You can also tell us
how many eBay items to show on the search and category results.
Usually 10-15 are good. You
don't want too many because your
goal is to get them to eBay with your Affiliate ID quickly.
The faster they're at eBay.com, hopefully the
faster they buy something and make you a commission. Remember,
it's not what they buy from your site, it's what they buy on eBay
that pays your commission.
When a person visits
your new eBay site, they haven't yet searched. Therefore, we need an
Item and Category to display automatically. We
need you to tell us what you want there.
The Category
will be what comes up in the “Search Box” and as a link
to eBay at the bottom of the page.
The Item will
be a specific type or sub-category under the main category you give
us.
Next are the keywords
in the individual categories. The default site is programmed so when
your visitor clicks on a category, it's not just a standard search of
the entire eBay site. That would return many unwanted items and your
visitor might leave quickly.
Therefore, we
programmed the site to search what we think are normal search words -
or keywords - for each category. You can change the categories or the
words to anything you want. You may do this now, for the initial
setup, and then once a month, if you want to make any changes.
We will set up a
reasonable number of Categories and Items for you when we first
install your eBay Cashflow Website.
We will cover this in
more detail below, but just a quick example first:
For example, near
Valentine's Day, you may want to edit the books category from
paperback to romance or love like this...

Now when your visitor
clicks on Books from the sidebar, they get all books that have the
word Romance in the eBay Title Listing. You
can get very creative with this feature and change it to match
holidays and your related web sites or whatever your imagination
dreams.
The following is the
initial list. You can modify it before we finalize your website, or
we can start you off with the list as it is.
We have left it in the
way it appears to us when editing. In practice, once a month we will
send you an automated email reminding you to tell us of any changes
you want to make.
You will only need to
tell us to remove a category and replace it with another. Such as:
Remove baby_clothes
Replace cat_collars
Simple enough. Just
make certain the terms you supply actually work within eBay.

The above are for what
comes up when your customer first lands on your site. The “DVD”
will show in the Search Box and the link at the bottom of the page.

the RSS Feed automatically displays the results with the word “paint”
in the title from the Art category -- not the whole eBay site

You can actually go
through this default list and make changes. We will send an automated
email with them all listed, as well as a place for you to give us
your domain name choice and other information.
If you are satisfied
with the default Categories and Items, let us know that, as well, and
we will proceed with your website. Either way, with or without
changes, we will need to have the returned email in order to complete
your website.
There you have it.
This is what we will
need from you to get your website set up. With this information you
will be ready to go in just a short time and you can begin with the
important part of your new venture – marketing your eBay
Cashflow Website.
You will receive this page as a printable or saveable pdf file, along with
another pdf file with many suggestions as to how to bring lots of
traffic to your new website. It doesn’t happen by itself, but
you can get people to your site and make some nice money in the
process.
